Seasoned newsreader Afia Adjei Sikapa nominated at 14th CityHills Foklex Media Awards

Renowned broadcast journalist and reigning champion Afia Adjei Sikapa, the News Editor and caster on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, has been nominated for the “Female Newsreader of the Year” category at the prestigious CityHills Foklex Media Awards.

The broadcaster has bagged the Newsreader of the Year, Greater Accra, at the 13th Edition of the Foklex Media Awards.

She toppled Bonohemaa Boakye Agyemang, Hot FM, Ama Pomaa Kyekyeku Power FM, Naa Dede StarFM, andM, Afia Tagor OnuFM. FMOhenewaa Kesse Boahene (Gangantuan Lady) Accra FM, Maame Yaa Boakye ToFM FMNana Yaa Yeboah Vision1 FM, Serwaa Akoto Angel FM, Accra, Anokyewaaba Adwoaa Serwaa Adom FM, and Abena Forkuo Mother’FM inin 2024 to win the category.

Sikapa believes the nomination affirms her dedication to her professionalism and quality of work.

She was optimistic in winning this year’s award and has commended listeners of Rainbow Radio for the support she had received over the years.

The Awards Ceremony is an annual event to recognise and celebrate the incredible achievements and contributions of television and radio journalists and presenters across the 16 regions of Ghana.

The awards not only acknowledge individual achievements but also serve as a testament to the collective dedication of media professionals to upholding the core principles of their profession.
