Current leadership of NPP lacks integrity, credibility and the youth must rescue the party now – Nkrumah

April 28, 2025
divine one

Director of Operations for the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Divine Nkrumah has asked the young people in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to reclaim the soul of the party.

He averred that the party in its current state needs to be rescued from the current leadership since the elephant is on the verge of staying in opposition for a long time.

Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he said that the youth must reclaim the party from the current leadership, who lack integrity and credibility, and warned that if the party’s youth do not rescue it, the NPP will remain in opposition for many years.

‘’They have not learnt any lessons, and young people with political ambitions must save the party or they will be unable to contest and win any elections.”

He was responding to the ongoing ‘’Thank You Tour’’ being led by former Vice Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who represented the party as its presidential candidate.

‘’If I have any advice, I will admonish the youth to rescue and reclaim the party from the current leadership. They should think about their future and the party and fight hard to take away from the current leadership. Should the youth fail in doing this and allow internal bickering and fighting to continue, then they will stay in opposition for a very long time.’’

Divine Nkrumah also opined that although it is commendable for the former Vice President to admit to the past government’s mismanagement, incompetence, and misgovernance, his admission must translate into a heartfelt apology to Ghanaians for all the harm and injustices they inflicted.

‘’When we tried to draw their attention to these issues and pointed out the flaws in his government, they never admitted or accepted any blame. Instead, they taunted us with their actions and made us feel like fools. And now, here we are,” he added.
