The Member of Parliament for the Weija Gbawe constituency, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, on Monday, April 28, 2025, launched the MP’s BECE Mock Examination for candidates preparing to sit for their final exams.
The initiative is aimed at boosting the academic preparedness of final-year Basic Education Certificate Examination candidates across the constituency.
As part of the programme, schools that perform exceptionally well in both the mock examinations and the final BECE will receive special awards and packages, the MP revealed.
According to the lawmaker, this incentive is designed to foster healthy academic competition and to motivate both teachers and students to strive for excellence.
He explained that ’‘this initiative is intended to foster healthy academic competition and inspire both teachers and students to pursue excellence’.
The MP’s BECE Mock Examination initiative will offer every final-year student access to standardised practice exams, marked and assessed by experienced educators.
Honourable Shaib, who is also the Second Deputy Minority Whip, noted that participation is completely free, ensuring that no student is left behind due to financial limitations.
