The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has assured the Ghanaian public that it is working tirelessly to ensure a smooth transition from the biometric to the embedded passport.
According to the ministry, about 30,000 old applications remain on the old system, out of which 790 paid applicants have incomplete applications.
In a statement issued on April 30, 2025, the ministry assured applicants with incomplete applications that they will not be charged additional fees to complete the pending applications.
It informed all applicants with incomplete applications to visit the new portal, .mfa.gov.gh and follow the prompt on the platform to complete their applications.
Meanwhile, the ministry has informed the public that all applicants with incomplete applications must complete them within 90 days; Applicants whose appointments have already been booked on the old system should proceed to passport application centres for their biometrics to be captured on the appointed day; And applicants who missed their appointments on 28th and 29th 2025 are advised to visit the respective passport application centres for further processing of their applications.
