The announcement followed important meetings with Algeria’s president, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and foreign minister, Ahmed Attaf.

The two countries have also agreed to increase collaboration in several areas.

These include offering more scholarships for Ghanaian students in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and engineering.

Aside from these agreements, there would be the launching of a direct flight between Accra and Algiers, establishing a partnership in oil and gas, and enhancing cooperation in security and intelligence sharing.

Ghana and Algeria also agreed to restart their Joint Economic Cooperation programme.

According to the officials from the two countries, the visit has helped to renew the strong friendship between Ghana and Algeria, which dates back to the early years following both nations’ independence.
