The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has cancelled the issuance of all diplomatic passports for 12 categories of people.
The directive, which goes into effect today, May 6, 2025, states that these groups of people cannot use their passports for international travel.
A statement issued by the Ministry disclosed that the directive was in line with the public announcements issued on January 15 and March 10, 2025, by the Ministry.
The ministry in the statement acknowledged the compliance of 407 holders of diplomatic passports and 403 service passports, who returned the passports after the announcements were made.
However, 341 persons with diplomatic passports and 360 service passports refused to return theirs, the ministry revealed, adding that their passports have been cancelled.
