The government is set to launch Graduates in Corporate Support programme—an initiative under his 120-day social contract, aimed at reducing youth unemployment and advancing Ghana’s 24-hour economy.
President John Mahama disclosed this while
speaking during a national address on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
He used the address to account for his first 120 days in office.
“The first 20,000 young graduates will be attached to corporate firms and industries operating 24-hours a day, providing them with invaluable work experience and contributing to national economic growth.”
He explained that the initiative is part of a broader strategy to create jobs and develop skills among Ghana’s youth.
President Mahama added that YEA is partnering with Security Agencies and collaborating with the Fire, Police, and Immigration services to ensure security for these 24-hour firms.
He said the Graduates in Corporate Support programme is expected to be a game-changer for young Ghanaians and the economy, aligning with the government’s vision of a vibrant 24-hour economy.
According to him, the government is also working towards training and deploying 23,000 security recruits to support this effort.
“We laid out a social contract with the people of Ghana, and we are fulfilling those promises with urgency and accountability,” President Mahama added.
