Major General Richard Addo Gyane has handed over leadership of the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) to Air Commodore David Anetey Akrong, marking a pivotal leadership transition and reaffirming commitment to advancing peacekeeping training across Africa.
In his farewell remarks, Major General Gyane reflected on his tenure, highlighting significant achievements such as infrastructure improvements, new academic and youth programmes, and enhanced digital learning.
He credited these strides to collaborative efforts despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
He commended Air Commodore Akrong’s capabilities and expressed confidence in his leadership.
The outgoing commandant thanked his family, staff and partners, emphasising teamwork, resilience and lasting connections, while pledging continued support to the centre’s mission and relationships.
