Sammy Gyamfi misconducted himself, he should go back for the money or face my wrath – Nyonkonpa Daniels

Madam Nyonkonpa Daniels, Executive Director of Peace Watch Ghana and a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has criticised the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, for handing over a substantial amount of dollars to self-styled evangelist Mama Pat, also known as Agradaa.

Madam Daniels expressed disappointment in the CEO’s actions, stating that he has misconducted himself and provided ammunition for the opposition to insult the president.

According to her, the situation is further exacerbated by Agradaa’s history of cursing people who vote for former President Mahama, making the decision to hand over the money even more contentious.

Madam Daniels emphasized that Agradaa does not deserve the amount and urged Sammy Gyamfi to retrieve the money from her.

She noted that there are several NDC members who have made sacrifices for the party and are struggling financially, and it would have been more prudent to support them instead.

Madam Daniels warned that if the money is not retrieved, she will take further action against Sammy Gyamfi.

She reiterated her disappointment, stressing that the incident could lead to attacks from the opposition and that Agradaa must return the money publicly.

“I am extremely dismayed by Sammy Gyamfi’s actions, which I believe were unbecoming. His decision to provide financial support to Agradaa is particularly troubling given the numerous National Democratic Congress members who have made significant sacrifices for the party and are struggling financially. It would have been more prudent for him to consider supporting party members in need within various constituencies, potentially empowering them to establish businesses.

The optics of donating such a substantial amount to Agradaa are unfavorable, especially considering her past statements regarding former President Mahama. I urge Sammy Gyamfi to reconsider his donation and request that the funds be returned. Failure to do so may prompt severe repercussions from me. Agradaa’s prior comments do not warrant her receiving such financial assistance, and I believe she should publicly return the funds.”
