The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has disbursed loans to 5,667 additional tertiary students for the 2024/2025 academic year.
The disbursement has therefore increased the total number of beneficiaries for the current academic year to 31,659 students.
These beneficiaries are from 130 public and private tertiary institutions.
STLF explained that the move is in line with the John Mahama-led administration’s commitment to providing all-inclusive educational opportunities for everyone, regardless of background.
Chief Executive Officer of the Students Loan Trust Fund, Dr Saajida Shiraz, indicated that the Trust Fund will ensure timely disbursement of funds, enabling beneficiaries to enrol in their tertiary institutions of choice without facing financial barriers.
In a Facebook post, she noted that they will continue in providing continuous financial support to students under the government’s ‘No-Fees-Stress’.
“As we work to implement the No-Fees-Stress policy, we remain committed to providing financial support to continuing students,” Dr Saajida Shiraz stated.
She added that the SLTF remains focused on its mandate to accelerate national development through quality tertiary education for all.
