Three persons have lost their lives following an accident at Akyem Asafo, along the busy Kumasi to Accra highway.
The tragic accident which occurred in the early hours of Monday morning has claimed the lives of three people and left two others injured.
Rainbowradioonline.com gathered that the crash involved three heavy-duty vehicles.
A DAF trailer transporting cocoa, with registration number 6294-11, broke down and was left stationary in the middle of the road.
While en route to Accra, two other trucks, a Scania with registration number GS 6429-11 and a Howo tipper truck (registration yet to be confirmed), crashed into the immobile trailer.
The three individuals were said to have died on the spot.
The three were the driver of the Scania and two female passengers, believed to be market traders.
Emergency response teams, including personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (Bunso Command), the Suhum Police Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), and the Ghana National Ambulance Service, were promptly deployed to manage the situation.
The bodies of the deceased have been transported to the Suhum Government Hospital mortuary, while the injured persons have been admitted at the same facility for treatment.
