The Ghana Gold Board, in collaboration with National Security, has arrested three Indian nationals for engaging in illegal gold trading.
This brings the total number of foreigners arrested to six.
The suspects were arrested in Anyinam, located in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
Items retrieved during the operation included gold bars, stacks of cash, and money-counting machines.
On April 29, 2025, the police arrested three other Indian nationals.
They were arrested before the Ghana Gold Board’s official announcement directing foreign nationals to exit Ghana’s gold trading market.
Commenting on the latest arrest, the Head of Public Relations at the Ghana Gold Board, Prince Minkah, said the arrested individuals will be arraigned to face the full rigor of the law.
