The alleged mastermind behind a carjacking syndicate, Solomon Siaw Tetteh, has been arrested.
The suspect and his accomplices, who were previously arrested, are accused of a carjacking syndicate operating in the Krobo enclave and have been arrested after narrowly evading capture last week.
According to the Ghana Police Service, Solomon escaped during an earlier operation at his home in Nuaso, a suburb of Odumase, where three of his accomplices were arrested.
However, following fresh intelligence, the suspect was at another hideout in the same area on Monday, May 19, 2025, and effected his arrest.
Solomon and his gang are accused of stealing vehicles in Nkurakan, Asesewa, Somanya, and Ada Magazine.
After allegedly stealing these vehicles, they disassemble and convert them into coal pots.
Solomon is currently in custody while investigations continue.
When transporting the suspect to the Koforidua Divisional Police Headquarters, the police changed their route.
They diverted from the Nkurakan-Asaman road and took the Koforidua Agavenya stretch after receiving information that a group of youth in Nkurakan had blocked the main Koforidua road, allegedly with the intention of lynching the suspect due to his involvement in thefts in the region.
