Minister in charge of Government Communications Felix Kwakye Ofosu has provided an update on the ‘No Fees Stress, indicating that 57,327 students have accessed the portal.
According to him, out of the figure, 41,647 students have completed their registration on the portal.
He explained in a Facebook post that the registration was necessary to make the reimbursement to those who have already paid their fees successful.
‘’Registration is necessary to obtain the banking details of students for reimbursement to those who have already paid their fees and to validate lists submitted by public tertiary institutions.’’
The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) recently launched a portal, www.nofeesstress.sltf.gov.gh, for first-year students in Ghana’s public tertiary institutions to apply for financial support under the “No-Fees-Stress” policy.
President John Dramani Mahama in the run up to the 2024 general elections promised to rollout this initiative to ease the financial burden on families and ensure uninterrupted studies for students.
Students are expected to provide the necessary information quickly, allowing the SLTF to efficiently verify eligibility for financial assistance.
Students needing help with the registration process or additional information can contact SLTF through the helpline 0302751020 or by visiting any of its zonal offices across the country.
