The suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo has filed an application to the Supreme Court through former Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame, requesting that two of the committee members probing his removal proceedings be excluded.
She wants Justices Gabriel Scott Pwamang and Samuel Asiedu to be barred from participating in her removal proceedings.
The said two apex court judges are members of the committee investigating the petitions against her and were recently implicated in allegations of meeting with a lawyer associated with the case, an allegation the lawyer in question has denied.
She is among other reliefs praying the court to halt the scheduled sitting of the said committee, which is expected to convene tomorrow, Thursday, May 22, 2025.
She has also filed a formal application for an injunction.
The embattled Chief Justice seeks to restrain the committee from proceeding with its activities until a determination is made on the substantive issues raised in her suit.
