Two suspects have been arrested by the Walewale Police in the North East Region for allegedly stealing a pistol and ammunition belonging to an immigration officer.
A statement issued by the police and signed by Deputy Superintendent Robert Anabiik Anmain of the Public Relations Unit said the suspects entered the room of the officer while he was away and allegedly stole a pistol.

The police revealed that the pistol was loaded with ten rounds of ammunition. The suspects also are being accused of stealing the two rifle magazines loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition each.
The suspects have been identified as Mohammed Basit, 18, and Baba Rasid, 22. According to the police, the two engaged in the unlawful act on May 17, 2025, and were arrested through intelligence at Kperiga, a suburb of Walewale.
