The Western Regional Police Command has arrested a suspect for unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The suspect identified as Yahaya Seidu was arrested at Aponteng Krom in the Western Region.
A statement issued by the police disclosed that the suspect was arrested in possession of a locally manufactured pistol and, when questioned, could not provide any lawful justification for possessing the firearm.
Police retrieved from the suspect one locally manufactured pistol and two live cartridges.
According to the police, the suspect is currently in police custody, assisting the investigation, and will be put before the court.
