The Office of the Special Prosecutor has issued a public notice denying receiving any medical report on the condition of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.
The notice issued on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, was in response to the circulation of a medical report purportedly issued by the Mayo Clinic in the United States of America.
In the said medical report, the former minister, who has been redeclared a wanted person, is set to undergo surgery due to prostate cancer.
However, the OSP says it has not received such a report.
‘’We wish to place on record that neither Mr Ofori-Atta nor his lawyers have submitted any such letter to the OSP.’’
The OSP stressed that ’to date, no certified medical records or official documents from any hospital authority have been submitted to the OSP indicating that Mr Ofori-Atta is incapacitated or unable to travel to Ghana.
The Office wondered why the lawyers for the former minister will circulate the alleged letter from the hospital in the media instead of submitting it to the law enforcement agency investigating their client.
