The Municipal Chief Executive for Awutu Senya East, Seth Sarbah Serwornoo Banini, has disputed claims that Kasoa is a hotbed of crime, describing the narrative as not only misleading but also detrimental to the area’s potential.
He stated that he and other stakeholders are implementing measures to transform the area and alter its negative image.
Mr Banini lamented that crimes occur in various locations, but people tend to associate them with Kasoa.
During an appearance on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he emphasised that Kasoa is a business hub and encouraged entrepreneurs to disregard the false narratives and invest in the area.
He highlighted his effective working relationship with Member of Parliament Phils Naa Naa Koryoo Okunor and noted that rebranding efforts are progressing well, with notable improvements in sanitation.
The MCE added that the Central Business District’s prominence as a travel hub often leads to negative incidents in other areas being attributed to Kasoa.
He reiterated that Kasoa is open for business and invited potential business owners to take advantage of the opportunities available.
Furthermore, he mentioned that an ongoing decongestion exercise aims to prevent street trading and pavement encroachment, with traders being duly informed.
