Hon. Abdul Majeed Dokurgu, the Effia Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly Boss, has extended well wishes to all the candidates participating in the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
He particularly expressed encouragement over the higher number of female candidates and advised students to avoid engaging in all forms of malpractices since they have negative consequences for them.
He said it was prudent for them to abide by all the rules and regulations of the ongoing exams since it will help them achieve their best results, which is vital for their future prospects.
”I will extend congratulations to all our candidates within the country and specifically those in the municipal assembly. This year, 3,036 students have registered for the Basic Education Certificate Examination within our ministry, with over 1,600 being female and 1,400 plus being male. It is particularly encouraging to note that more girls have enrolled for the exams, which is a positive trend. We have adequately prepared them.
Over the past month, we have conducted numerous sessions in the municipality to prepare the students for the exams, and I am confident that they are well-prepared for the exams. We anticipate excellent results. We have groomed them effectively, and regarding exam malpractice and the rules and regulations governing these exams, they are well-informed. Through comprehensive training and personal motivation, I have ensured that they understand the rules and regulations.”
He also commended the teachers for doing their best to cover the syllabus and prepare the students for the exam.
On her part, Mrs. Binney Kontoh, the EKMA Director of Education, urged BECE candidates to refrain from examination malpractices to avoid any risk of exam cancellations.
