The Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment has suspended the Central Management System (CMS) used by the National Service Authority (NSA) for postings.
The CMS is a digital infrastructure designed to manage postings and verification processes for national service personnel.
The decision to suspend the CMS was taken following a directive from the Office of the President.
A statement issued by the ministry on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, explained that the immediate suspension was a “decisive step taken in the national interest” to pave the way for a comprehensive technical and forensic review of the platform, which has come under scrutiny amid emerging concerns.
“The Ministry wishes to assure the general public, especially National Service Personnel and stakeholders, that measures are being put in place to ensure that the operations of the Authority are not disrupted,” the statement said.
According to the ministry, alternative systems and verification protocols are currently being assessed to ensure transparency and continuity in service delivery.
Meanwhile, the ministry has admonished all national service personnel and the public to remain calm and cooperate with the ongoing efforts to safeguard the integrity of the NSA.
“The Ministry assures the general public, particularly service personnel and stakeholders, that the operations of the Authority will not be disrupted by this action, as they work to safeguard the integrity of the National Service Authority.”
