A young woman, Grace Emefa, has accused her former boyfriend, Tony Nana Baji, of allegedly pouring acid on her clothes and other items in her room.
The disturbing incident occurred at the New Nkusukum Electra area at Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the central region.
According to reports, the incident happened around 6:30 pm on Monday, June 23, 2025, after Grace returned home from work to find her door open and her belongings damaged.
It is believed that Tony’s actions were a reaction to Grace’s decision to end their five-year relationship.
She stated that Tony was the only one with a spare key to her room and, therefore, must have been the one who ransacked her room.
Additionally, Grace Emefa revealed that Tony had previously threatened to kill her if she ended the relationship with him.
She also claimed that Baji had previously come to her demanding she return a television and other items he had bought for her.
Based on this and other past incidents, Emefa concluded that her former boyfriend was responsible for pouring acid in her room.
The assembly member for the area, Hon. Ali Abubakari Soring, confirmed the incident and reported it to the Mankessim police station.
Meanwhile, Tony Baji is currently on the run.
