Ghanaian gospel musician Joe Mettle has disclosed that some of his best-performing songs were recorded at moments of distress.
The 2017 Telecel Ghana Music Awards Artist of the Year stated that he performed or recorded some of these songs while expecting a miracle from God.
The musician disclosed this in an interview on the mid-morning show on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM.
He stated that ‘Mensuro’ and ‘Onwanwani’ were two of the songs he recorded during his lowest points.
”These were my lowest points. Surprisingly, they were some of the loudest songs I had that came at very difficult times in my life when I almost doubted whether this life of music and worship was for me. I was really going through it, tasting the bitter side of life.”
According to Joe Mettle, these were songs of encouragement and assurance that ”God was with me”.
He explained to host Sokoohemaa Kukua that “throughout all these challenges, the songs were messages that God reechoed back to me in those times of my stress and trusting God for a miracle, and overtime, the more of such songs I wrote to encourage others, God also gave me songs of gratitude and thanksgiving.”
He continued: “I can never get tired of thanking God for his goodness towards my life.”
