The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested some members of a notorious armed robbery gang responsible for a series of violent attacks in Kumasi.
The suspects were apprehended during a high-risk operation on Friday, June 27, 2025.

The suspects were found to have firearms, wristwatches, cell phones, and laptops.
At a press conference on Monday, June 30, 2025, Ashanti Regional Police Commander DCOP Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe announced that one suspect who was shot during the arrest had been declared dead at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

The suspects are being held at this time and will shortly be arraigned in court.

A preliminary investigation conducted by the police has revealed that the suspects used pump-action guns, pistols, and other offensive weapons to break into homes, holding victims and their relatives hostage.

Some of the suspects have also allegedly confessed to participating in the robberies, with one admitting to committing a rape during one of the operations.
