Ghanaian Catholic prelate, Cardinal Appiah Turkson has opined that the development of the country is not the sole responsibility of the President, but a shared duty that requires the active participation of all citizens.
Speaking as the Guest Speaker at the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving, the respected man of God admonished Ghanaians to embrace a renewed sense of patriotism and civic duty.
He asserted that the plan by the President to transform the country cannot be realized without the contribution of every citizen.
The event was held today, Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the forecourt of State House, Accra.
The National Day of Prayer brought together political leaders, clergy, and civil society groups to intercede for peace, unity, and direction for the nation.
On his part, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Founder and General Overseer of Action Chapel International, urged President John Dramani Mahama to lead a bold transformation agenda that will strengthen the economy and unite the nation under a clear, long-term development vision.
“Mr President, within three years, make a difference. Impact this world and change the narrative of Ghana. Let the Cedi thrive under your leadership. Let the Cedi flourish under your leadership and let things get better and better under your leadership like never before,” he declared, drawing strong applause from the congregation.
“Ghana, our motherland, is where our vision and agenda are. Under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, a national agenda will be established to compel all stakeholders to follow that agenda,” he added.
