Hon. Col. Rtd. Kwadwo Damoah, Member of Parliament for Jaman South, has expressed disappointment and concern over the Minister’s response to his query regarding missing containers belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
Initially, thousands of containers were reported missing. Later, 2600 were found, but 54 still remained unaccounted for. However, the Minister disputed this figure, admitting that 23 containers could not be traced in the customs system.
MP Damoah questioned the effectiveness of the current system in tracking container transfers between locations, emphasizing that containers have unique identification numbers and scanning and tracking systems are in place to monitor their movement.
The MP expressed dissatisfaction with the Minister’s response, feeling that he avoided answering the question directly and claimed not to work at the port, despite previously holding a press conference about the issue.
