Founder of the People’s National Party (PNP), Madam Janet Nablah, has slammed President John Dramani Mahama over the ongoing processes to remove the suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo from office.
She described President Mahama as “evil” with an agenda to remove the female Chief Justice at all costs.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, she stated that all the individuals appointed to the committee probing the matter have personal scores to settle with Madam Torkornoo.
Madam Nablah said that committee members, including Daniel Yaw Domelovo, harbour some form of animosity against the suspended Chief Justice.
The female politician told host Kwabena Agyapong that it is “most unfortunate and shocking” that the concerns of human rights violations Madam Torkornoo raised have not been given any attention by the president.
She argued that, based on the issues Madam Torkornoo raised at her press conference, the allegations against her clearly lacked merit, were unfounded, and provided no grounds for anyone to be subjected to a probe or removed from office.
Madam Nablah said the committee members have used every means to frustrate the woman, causing her emotional trauma in hopes she might “end up killing herself”.
She noted that after listening to the woman and observing what has transpired so far, she can clearly state that President Mahama and his cohorts don’t want women to progress in national leadership.
“President Mahama intentionally constituted this committee with members who hate the Chief Justice with passion. Nobody suggested the names for him. I can beat my chest and state categorically that President Mahama handpicked the committee members with the sole intention of making it much easier to remove the Chief Justice from office,” she alleged.
“All protocols have broken down with President Mahama now in charge of the Executive, Legislature, and now also in charge of the Judiciary. That is the reason why I submitted my petition to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu because we don’t trust any of these institutions,” she added.
