The Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, has commended the ‘No Fees Stress’ working group for their dedication and commitment to their work.
Dr. Apaak noted that the working group’s diligence has enabled President John Dramani Mahama to officially launch the initiative on Friday, July 4, 2025.
Prior to the official launch, Saajida Shiraz, Chief Executive Officer of the SLTF, revealed that as of Tuesday, July 1, loans have been successfully disbursed to 19,703 tertiary students, with priority accorded to students in need.
This development precedes the official launch of the ‘No-Fees-Stress’ initiative, slated for Friday, July 4.
The initiative is anticipated to mark a significant shift in the government’s approach to tertiary education financing. Commenting on the impending launch, the Deputy Minister for Education expressed delight that the President will formally launch the policy.
“JM will officially launch his No Fees Stress Policy tomorrow. On behalf of our hard-working Minister for Education and myself, I extend our gratitude to the No Fees Stress working group.
“Trust John Dramani Mahama to deliver on his promises. No Fees Stress Policy is active!” Dr. Apaak wrote on his Facebook handle on Thursday.
“The days when the Trust Fund approved students for loans it couldn’t disburse are over. The revamped SLTF is now working diligently each day to fulfill its mandate of providing timely financial support to students,” Ms. Shiraz stated. ”
