Armed robbers and murderers should be pardoned if toxic Agradaa is granted a presidential pardon – Nyonkopa

Executive Director of Peace Watch Ghana, Madam Nyonkopa Daniels, has slammed advocates for a presidential pardon for convicted self-styled evangelist Patricia Asiedu, also known as Agradaa.

Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Madam Daniels posited that the former traditional priestess does not merit any form of presidential pardon, as she has reaped the consequences of her actions.

She maintained that Agradaa is detrimental to Ghanaian society, and that allowing the law to run its course would afford her the opportunity to transform into a better individual.

Madam Daniels emphasized that while no one wishes Agradaa ill or demise, she has contravened the law and has been penalized accordingly, and therefore “she must carry her cross.”

She advised President Mahama to disregard the appeals for a presidential pardon for Agradaa, arguing that if this were the case, convicted armed robbers should also be granted pardon.

“I am not against the woman, but I am against her modus operandi. She is toxic to our society. Nobody should call for pardon. We should allow the law to work because the law is the law,” she emphasised. “I have received several calls from individuals asking me to convey their messages to the President and the First Lady not to involve themselves in this matter. There are better things they have to concentrate on.”

She concluded by stressing that Agradaa was prosecuted, found guilty, and sentenced, and therefore the law must be respected.

“Nobody should call for any presidential pardon for her. She is a nuisance and a toxic person and has been punished for that. This demonstrates that the law is the rule and nobody is above it, including President John Dramani Mahama. Who should be pardoned? If you want her pardoned, then all convicted murderers and armed robbers should be pardoned. This woman has caused pain. That is why I stated that she should have been treated as an outcast and not allowed to hug President John Dramani Mahama.”
