A three-month pregnant woman, Hannah Tetteh, is currently in an unstable condition at the Mother and Child Hospital in Kasoa after allegedly being assaulted by a police informant.
The 36-year-old victim was accused of stealing and selling drugs.
The incident unfolded in the Central Business District of Kasoa, Awutu Senya East Municipality, Central Region.
Hannah, who operates a drinking spot in Ofankor, was reportedly on her way to purchase beverages when the alleged police informant confronted her, accusing her of drug dealing.
According to Hannah’s mother, Victoria Naah, the informant severely beat her daughter, hitting her abdomen with his leg, causing her to collapse into a coma.
Following the alleged assault, the informant reportedly called the police to the scene.
Upon their arrival, six armed officers from the Central East Police Command allegedly stripped the unconscious Hannah naked and searched her.
However, no drugs were found.
Hannah Tetteh remains hospitalized as she receives medical care. Further details are expected as investigations continue.
