President John Dramani Mahama has announced that financial clearance would soon be issued to pave the way for regional recruitment into the country’s security services.
Mr. Mahama noted that the clearance will allow each region to receive a designated quota for enlisting qualified young people into the police, immigration, Fire Service, Ghana Armed Forces, and the other security services.
Speaking at a durbar during his ‘Thank You Tour’ of the Western North Region on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, President Mahama said this would be in fulfillment of his campaign promise to decentralize the recruitment into the security services.
“We also promised to decentralize recruitment into the security services. We’re waiting for financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance, and when we get it, every region is going to have a quota to send our young people to serve in the security services,” he stated.
