The Minister of Interior has renewed the curfew hours for Bawku Municipality and its environs in the Upper East Region from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, effective today, Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
A statement issued and signed by Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak said the curfew hours were renewed on the advice of the Upper East Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument.
He admonished the chiefs, elders, and opinion leaders, and most particularly the youth, to exercise restraint no matter the challenges confronting them.
Additionally, the Minister has also placed a total ban on all persons in the Bawku Municipality and its environs from carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons.
Persons who are found carrying these banned weapons, the Minister added, would be arrested and prosecuted.

Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons in the Bawku Municipality and its environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons and any persons found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.
