The police have shot three suspected armed robbers in Tema following a shootout.
The incident occurred while police responded to a distress call, which led to a confrontation with the suspects and an exchange of gunfire.
A statement from the Service revealed that personnel from the Tema Regional Police Command responded to a distress call on July 21, 2025, regarding approximately 10 armed men breaking into a warehouse at the Tema Industrial Area.
Three suspected armed robbers were shot and pronounced dead.
The remaining suspects, who sustained gunshot wounds, escaped.
Recovered exhibits include a Bruni mod foreign pistol, a double-barrelled locally manufactured pistol with two rounds of ammunition, and one live BB ammunition.
The bodies have been deposited at the Police Hospital Morgue for identification, preservation, and autopsy while investigations continue to apprehend the remaining suspects.
