A fire outbreak occurred at an uncompleted fuel station located at Ejura Babasso, near the cemetery, resulting in one fatality.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) confirmed the incident, which took place on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, in an official statement
According to the Service, the Ejura Fire Station, at approximately 12:25 p.m., received a distress call regarding the outbreak involving block number E 6264, known to be retailing petrol in gallons. Personnel from the station and led by Station Officer I Daniels Moah were deployed to the scene.
The Service said the officers arrived at the scene within six (6) minutes, at 12:31p.m.
“The fire had already engulfed the uncompleted fuel station upon arrival of the responding crew. The adept crew battled the raging fire upon arrival, brought it under control within ten (10) minutes, and fully extinguished it at 12:55 p.m. using water.
Tragically, 25-year-old Ali Abubakari lost his life in the fire incident. His charred body was handed over to officers from the Ejura Police Command for further investigation,” the statement revealed.
