The Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has assured the Ghanaian public that the persons behind two separate fatal shooting incidents at Asawase in the Ashanti Region will be arrested.
He made the remarks when he led a team of senior police officers and investigators on a fact-finding mission to the area following the two fatal shootings within a week.
A 60-year-old man, identified as Mohammed Madi Suleman, was shot and killed on Friday, July 25, while returning to his vehicle from a local eatery.
He was shot by unknown gunmen on a motorbike. His death came after the Kuase Chief, Abdul-Malik Azenbe, was brutally murdered.
The Inspector General of Police and his team visited both crime scenes and instructed their men to ensure the persons behind both incidents are arrested.
The Director General of Operations at the Ghana Police Service, DCOP Vance Gariba, reiterated that the police would apprehend the perpetrators of both crimes and instructed the police to ensure strict enforcement of the ban on the movement of motorbikes after 7 pm, as directed by the Ashanti Regional Security Council.
