The government has announced plans to evacuate students in all areas affected by the ongoing conflict.
Earlier, the Interior Ministry announced a curfew from 2:00 pm to 6:00 am, which took immediate effect on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
According to a statement issued by Government Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the imposition of the curfew aims to create a conducive atmosphere for the evacuation of students from various educational institutions, some of whom have been targeted.
The government had earlier announced the deployment of soldiers to the area to help maintain law and order.
It explained that although the deployment of soldiers is inconvenient, it ensures that the ongoing peace-building process led by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is not thwarted by the ongoing conflict.
