Minority donates GHS100K to Black Queens after WAFCON Bronze win

The Minority Caucus in Ghana, under the leadership of Alexander Afenyo-Markin, presented a donation of GHC100,000 to the Black Queens in recognition of their exceptional performance at the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

This gesture was extended during the team’s courtesy visit to Parliament on July 29, where lawmakers congregated to commemorate the team’s recent achievement.

The donation forms part of the Caucus’s initiative to promote women in sports and express appreciation for the team’s continental success.

The team through a penalty shootout secured victory over South Africa, the Black Queens secured third place at the 2024 WAFCON, marking their best finish since 2016.

Earlier, Parliament had unanimously passed a motion congratulating the team, including notable players such as captain Portia Boakye and midfielder Grace Asantewaa, who were named in the CAF Team of the Tournament.
