Member of Parliament for Kade, Hon. Alexander Agyare, has questioned the government’s claims of economic growth, citing a lack of investment in the agriculture and industrial sectors.
Speaking during the debate on the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review, Hon. Agyare noted that despite criticising the budgetary allocation for these sectors in the main budget, there has been no increment in the mid-year budget. “You don’t reap where you have not sown,” he said, questioning the source of the growth.
Hon. Agyare credited the previous government’s infrastructure development, including the airport, for laying the foundation for current growth. He also highlighted the challenges posed by the current exchange rate, which he described as unpredictable.
The MP urged the government to prioritise investment in key sectors and take a more realistic approach to managing the economy.
