The Obuasi Divisional Police Command has successfully foiled a robbery attempt on the Tutuka-Akrofuom road in Obuasi, resulting in the arrest of one suspect.
According to a statement issued by the Command, a prompt response following a distress call led to the foiling of the robbery.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the responding Police team encountered a gang of robbers who fled into the bush, abandoning two unregistered motorcycles and a machete.
During the pursuit, the Police apprehended suspect Pascal Yenkye, who sustained a leg injury while attempting to escape on his motorcycle.
The injured suspect is currently receiving medical attention under police guard, while a manhunt is underway to apprehend the remaining suspects.
The Police Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Ghanaians.
“The Ghana Police Service continues to assure the public of its commitment to ensure security, law, and order across the country,” the statement added.
