The Western Central Region Police Command’s Asankragwa Division has apprehended a suspect, Daniel Yeboah, in connection with substances believed to be narcotics.
An arrest was made on July 31, 2025, at the Samreboi-Tanokrom Snap checkpoint, where Yeboah was apprehended with two traveling bags containing 66 compressed parcels suspected to contain Indian hemp while operating a tri-cycle (Pragia).
According to the police, Yeboah claimed that a woman at Wenchi gave him the exhibits to deliver to her at Mumuni camp near Samreboi, for which he was paid GH 5000.
An investigation has been launched, and efforts are underway to apprehend the alleged woman to aid in the investigation.
A statement from the police revealed that Yeboah will be arraigned in court on Monday, August 4, 2025.
Meanwhile, the Regional Police Command has urged anyone with information about the alleged woman or the case to come forward.
