The Esiama Police have initiated a manhunt for four suspected armed robbers.
According to the Police, they received a distress call on July 30, 2025, at approximately 5:30 pm, regarding an attack on a gold buying shop at Teleku Bokazo in the Western Region, where armed robbers wielding AK 47 rifles and machetes were involved.
The police patrol team proceeded to the scene, finding that the six robbers had fled towards the Salman Community.
A chase ensued, resulting in an exchange of fire, and one robber, later identified as 34-year-old Abdul Rahman, sustained serious injuries.
He implicated one Mohammed and others as his accomplices before succumbing to his injuries at St Martin De Porres Hospital, Ekwie, where his body has been deposited in the morgue.
Investigations revealed that the robbers had entered the gold shop, shot, and inflicted cutlass wounds on two attendants, Samuel Appiah, 29, and Kwamena Nketiah, 45.
Through intelligence-led investigations, the police arrested 25-year-old Mohammed Adamu on August 1, 2025, who is currently assisting with investigations.
