Minister in charge of Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, says the past three days have been “profoundly painful and devastating” for him as he grapples with the right words to express the depth of the helicopter crash which killed eight individuals.

In a Facebook post, he stated that he is “completely heartbroken over the tragic loss of my Hon. Dr. Omane Boamah and Hon. Dr. Murtala Mohammed; Hon Alhaji Limuna Mohammad Muniru, Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Mr. Samuel Aboagye, and the dedicated crew members who were on board the helicopter en route to the launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Program in Obuasi.”

He described the ministers and the six others who died as “dedicated individuals who served their country well.”

The Lands Minister said Ghana is mourning heroes who were fighting for a better Ghana.

“These dedicated patriots served our nation with unflinching commitment, and their sacrifice in the line of duty will forever remain etched in the annals of the country’s history and our hearts.

We mourn not just public servants but heroes—fallen soldiers in the fight for a better Ghana.

Hon. Armah-Kofi Buah writes.

The past three days have been profoundly painful and devastating for me as I grapple with the right words to express the depth of the situation.
I am completely heartbroken over the tragic loss of my distinguished colleagues—Hon. Dr. Omane Boamah and Hon. Dr. Murtala Mohammed; Hon Alhaji Limuna Mohammad Muniru, Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Mr.Samuel Aboagye, and the dedicated crew members who were on board the helicopter en route to the launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Program in Obuasi.
This initiative was designed to promote sustainable mining practices while empowering local communities through targeted skills development.

These dedicated patriots served our nation with unflinching commitment, and their sacrifice in the line of duty will forever remain etched in the annals of the country’s history and our hearts.
We mourn not just public servants but heroes—fallen soldiers in the fight for a better Ghana.

In this moment of profound grief, I extend my deepest condolences to their families and loved ones and pray that their souls find eternal peace.
