A high-level closed-door meeting was held on Wednesday August 20, 2025, at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, bringing together the Mayor of Accra, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ablekuma West, Honorable George Kpakpo Allotey, and a team of consultants working on the Dansoman Emergency Coastal Protection Project Phase 2.
The meeting focused on strategies to accelerate the much-anticipated sea defense project along the coastal belt, stretching from Ablekuma West to Ablekuma South.
The ambitious project also seeks to introduce socioeconomic amenities like cold stores, fish markets, clinics, solid waste collection centers, sanitary rooms, shops, and car parks that will bring lasting benefits to residents and businesses across the coastal stretch.
With the MCE of Ablekuma West leading the charge, stakeholders expressed optimism about the bold transformation set to reshape the coastline.
“This is just the beginning—something great is about to happen to uplift our coastal belt,” an insider hinted after the session. Indeed, something big is cooking for Ablekuma West.
