The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has revealed that detained musician Shatta Wale has been unable to show where he purchased his Lamborghini Urus vehicle.
A statement issued by the organised crime office said the musician claims to have purchased the car from the “Street” and from someone possibly called “ZAK”.
EOCO has detained Shatta Wale after he voluntarily honoured an invitation by the office.
He is being held in connection with tax obligations on a yellow Lamborghini vehicle.
Management of the musician, in a statement, disclosed that Shatta Wale voluntarily presented himself at the EOCO offices on Wednesday, along with his lawyer, Cephas Biyuo, to assist with investigations.
The statement further added that efforts were underway to get the musician released as soon as possible.
Providing an update on the matter, EOCO disclosed that “So far, Charles Nii Armah Mensah has been unable to identify the person from whom he purchased the said Lamborghini Urus vehicle except to say that he purchased it from the ‘Street’ and from someone possibly called ‘ZAK’ who may have contacted him on WhatsApp but whose identity he does not know and whose contact he has thrown away.”
EOCO further revealed that the musician does not also possess any documentation, in terms of a receipt or transfer documents, which shows that he owns or purchased the said vehicle, except a customs declaration document in his possession bearing the name of Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is currently in jail.
