The Ministry of Health has postponed the planned Centralised Nursing and Midwifery Licensing Examinations to September 4, 2025.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Ministry and signed by Deputy Director of the Ministry and Spokesperson, Dr. Tony Goodman.
He indicated that the decision to postpone the examinations to September 4 was reached at a consultative meeting involving the Minister for Health, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), and the Conference of Heads of Health Training Institutions (COHHETI).
Dr. Goodman noted that “It was agreed that the examinations will henceforth be conducted in the respective training institutions, as was previously the practice, to ensure smooth participation.”
He explained that the decision was taken after careful consideration of the risks associated with extensive travel by students to designated examination centres.
“According to the Minister for Health, this measure is necessary to safeguard the safety and well-being of candidates, while ensuring fairness and proper monitoring of the examinations.”
A revised timetable and detailed guidelines will be issued by the NMC in due course.

POSTPONEMENT OF CENTRALISED LICENSING EXAMINATIONS FOR NURSING AND MIDWIFERY CANDIDATES
- The Ministry of Health wishes to inform all stakeholders and candidates that the planned Centralised Nursing and Midwifery Licensing Examinations have been postponed to September 4, 2025.
- This decision was reached at a consultative meeting involving the Minister for Health, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), and the Conference of Heads of Health Training Institutions (COHHETI). It was agreed that the examinations will henceforth be conducted in the respective training institutions, as was previously the practice, to ensure smooth participation and effective supervision by the NMC.
