The reporter said the victim owed the suspect Ghc300, and when the suspect demanded payment, the victim, identified as Agya Kofi, asked for more time.

Akufo-Addo had also reported the matter to some elders in the area, and Agya Kofi promised to pay him back.

However, while at work (Sunday, August 24, 2025) tapping palm wine, which is often used for the production of akpeteshie (a local alcoholic beverage), Akufo-Addo allegedly hit his boss’s head with a stick before beheading him.

After allegedly committing the offence, the suspect attempted to flee but was chased by residents, who hit him with a motorbike before handing him over to the police.

Later, some residents stormed the police station and attempted to assault the suspect, forcing the police to call for calm and maintain law and order.

The police later had to transfer the suspect to the Sekondi Police Command.
