The Committee tasked with probing the Ridge Hospital incident has revealed that medical records they examined showed no fracture or bone dislocation in the nurse who claimed to have been assaulted by Ralph Saint Williams.
Lawrence Ofori-Boadu, Chair of the Ridge Hospital Assault Investigative Committee, disclosed this when they submitted the report on the probe to the Health Minister, Kwabena Mintah Aknadoh, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.
According to the report, the nurse was treated, given pain relief medication, and advised to go on bed rest.
Rejoice Tsotso Bortei, a rotation nurse at the facility, had claimed to have suffered a shoulder dislocation during the incident.
She was also placed under psychological support care following the ordeal.
However, the Committee says contrary to what was announced previously, it has emerged that she did not suffer a fracture or shoulder dislocation.
“Rejoice Tsotso Bortei, who is a rotation nurse, reported her injury to the hospital a day after the incident on the 18th of August and was further treated. There was no evidence of fracture on her left wrist or dislocation of her right shoulder joint as documented by the medical records.
“She has, however, been treated and given pain relief, recommended for bed rest, and received psychological support care,” the committee stated.
