The Member of Parliament for Builsa South and Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, has officially commissioned four new classroom blocks across his constituency, marking a significant step in his commitment to improving educational access and quality.
These projects were handed over to the Builsa South District Education Director, Mr. Richard A. Akum-Nyemi, in separate ceremonies to acknowledge the unique needs of each community.
The newly completed facilities include a one-unit classroom block in Wiesi, a three-unit block in Dogniga, and another three-unit block in Uwasa Teudema.
All three were funded through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), a result of Dr. Apaak’s dedicated advocacy.
Demonstrating a personal commitment that extends beyond official channels, the fourth project—a two-unit classroom block in Fumbisi Suik—was fully financed by the MP’s personal resources.
At the commissioning events, the Constituency Chairman, Cerza Akinkang, spoke on behalf of Dr. Apaak, highlighting the MP’s personal connection to education.
“Dr. Apaak understands the power of education because he’s lived it. His love for this constituency and belief in its children’s potential inspired these projects,” Akinkang stated.
During the handovers, Mr. Akum-Nyemi expressed his deep appreciation for the MP’s support and urged parents to enroll their children aged four and above as schools reopen.
He also called on the beneficiary communities to serve as custodians of the new infrastructure, ensuring it remains well-maintained for future generations.
The four communities expressed their heartfelt gratitude and pledged to take good care of the facilities, while also calling for continued development efforts in the district.
