A 35-year-old man was killed after being hit by a speeding Toyota Highlander on the Nkroful-Ntankoful highway in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region.
The victim, who has yet to be identified by family, died instantly in the early hours of Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
The victim, who was not a resident of the area, was known for running errands for locals, including weeding, washing, and other activities.
No immediate family has been identified.
The vehicle, with registration number GW 2911-15, was being driven by an individual on an errand for the owner, according to a report by Ebenezer Manso-Cudjoe on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM.
The driver was reportedly traveling at a high speed when the accident occurred, causing the victim to be thrown onto the car’s windshield before landing on the ground. Due to the excessive speed, the driver was unable to stop immediately, traveling several meters before returning to the scene. The impact also caused significant damage to the vehicle.
Police were notified and arrived at the scene to conduct an examination.
The deceased’s body was then transported to the Osei Nkwanta Government Hospital morgue.
The driver has been arrested and is currently assisting with the police investigation.
