New Patriotic Party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua, has petitioned the party’s disciplinary committee over Kwame Baffoe’s (Abronye) conduct towards Ken Agyapong and himself.
He argues that Abronye’s conduct constitutes defamation, misconduct, and gross indiscipline.
Mr. Kodua has therefore called on the party to take disciplinary actions against Abronye.
He wants the party to conduct a full and impartial inquiry into Abronye’s conduct and apply the appropriate disciplinary sanctions in accordance with the party’s constitution.
Key Concerns Raised in the Petition
- Defamation of a Senior Party Member Mr. Baffoe is reported to have publicly insulted Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, a distinguished member of the Party, with derogatory statements, including a claim that “even the elephant has more wisdom than Hon. Agyapong.” Such remarks are unprintable, defamatory, and damaging to the reputation of Hon. Agyapong and the Party at large.
- Baseless allegations against the General Secretary Mr. Baffoe further alleged that the General Secretary deliberately concealed a report that purportedly implicated Hon. Agyapong as the destroyer of the Party and recommended his expulsion. These allegations are false, malicious, and injurious to the integrity of the Office of the General Secretary.
- Misrepresentation of Committee Findings Additionally, Mr. Baffoe has purported to disclose and misrepresent the contents of a disciplinary committee report, alleging that it catalogued various offences attributed to Hon. Agyapong. Such conduct constitutes a serious breach of confidentiality, discretion, decorum, and party discipline, while also undermining the authority of the Committee.
